The Alliance Police Department currently employs 37 full-time police officers.  We also employ 2 part time officers and 5 auxiliary (volunteer) officers.

The City of Alliance does NOT allow lateral entry into the police department at this time.

Full-Time Job Benefits:

  • 40 hours employment per week
  • Starting wage is currently $23.81 hr
  • 1.5 times regular rate for more than 8 hrs in day or 40 hours in week (overtime)

  • Special Response team, Canine, Crisis Hostage Negotiations assignments

The hiring process consists of the following stages. 

  • Civil Service Examination - written only (bonus given for military, college, part-time, basic academy)
  • Background check
  • Interview
  • Physical examination
  • Psychological examination
  • Voice-Stress examination
  • Final Interview
